We spent plenty of time in food courts <strong>in Montr\u00e9al\u2019s underground shopping galleries<\/strong>: large spaces, an impressive choice of cuisines, and the freedom to eat together without ordering the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Food courts are becoming more common in France too. Places open and close, and teams and counters change. The scene is still evolving. You can come for lunch, meet friends or stay for an evening out. But Chaud Bouillon is more than a food court: it is part of life along the <strong>Passage de l\u2019Internationale and throughout Fives Cail<\/strong>, with concerts, workshops, gatherings and plenty of events throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>This neighbourhood has a lot going on, and the hall contributes to that energy. Its community kitchen, professional kitchen and urban farm also support projects that go beyond a meal. Kombucha is also available on tap. For food, there are pizzas, focaccias, sharing platters and Welsh rarebit. It is an easy option for dinner nearby, or for starting the evening with a drink.<\/p>\n<p>When the weather allows, the terrace is a good reason to linger. Each person looks around, chooses a meal and returns to the table. Between exploring Old Lille and browsing the shopping streets, it makes an easy lunch or dinner stop.<\/p>\n<p>Take a few minutes to look at the menus before ordering. On Rue d\u2019Amiens, it brings together several cuisines in a smaller setting than the large food halls, spread over three levels.<\/p>\n<p>The options include Italian and Lebanese food and bagels. You can share mezze or choose separate dishes. Check what is happening on the day: lunch and a music night can have very different atmospheres. It is a good way to discover another side of Lille, especially as a family or with an activity planned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salad &amp; Co<\/strong> lets you put together your own salad. <strong>Gorilla<\/strong> adds options for lunch, coffee or a snack. You can stop to eat, or build a visit around the village\u2019s facilities.<\/p>\n<p>And if you skate, there is another reason to go: <strong>the outdoor skatepark and its bowl<\/strong>.
