Begin oktober verwelkomden we bij La Maison Fives verschillende mensen die naar Lille waren gekomen voor de finale examens voor de titel Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. Alles vond plaats op een steenworp van ons huis, in het Lyc\u00e9e H\u00f4telier International de Lille, in de wijk Fives Cail.<\/p>\n<p>Een van onze gasten was <strong>Emmanuel Cadieu<\/strong>, die twee nachten bij ons verbleef. Op 8 oktober 2026 behaalde hij de titel <strong>Meilleur Ouvrier de France in de sommellerie<\/strong>. Dagenlang maakten kandidaten, juryleden, docenten en leerlingen van de school een ontmoetingsplek voor de horecaberoepen.<\/p>\n<p>Ook Alain Ducasse, voorzitter van de categorie Cuisine, was aanwezig. Voor de bekendmaking van de resultaten benadrukte hij hoe waardevol het is om deze vakgebieden samen te brengen. Hij sprak ook zijn waardering uit voor het werk van de medewerkers en leerlingen van de school. <a href=\"https:\/\/foodandsens.com\/made-by-f-and-s\/mof-cuisine-2026-alain-ducasse-aux-finalistes-les-cinq-heures-depreuve-que-vous-avez-vecues-resteront-quoi-quil-arrive-le-moment-le-plus-inoubliable-de-votre-vie-profess\/amp\/\">Lees zijn toespraak (in het Frans).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wij waren niet bij de examens aanwezig. Het zijn professionele vakexamens. We beleefden deze week vanuit ons huis, via de mensen die bij ons logeerden en de reportages die ter plaatse werden gemaakt.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:inherit;font-size:1.2em;line-height:1.4;margin-top:1.5em;\">De MOF: een examen, geen podium<\/h2>\n<p>Vaak wordt gesproken over de \u2018wedstrijd\u2019 van de Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. Maar het uitgangspunt verdient wat uitleg: <strong>het is een examen dat uitzonderlijk vakmanschap erkent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het doel is niet om boven alle anderen te eindigen. Iedere kandidaat moet aan het vereiste niveau voldoen. Meerdere professionals kunnen dus binnen hetzelfde vakgebied de titel behalen.<\/p>\n<p>Fabrice Sommier, zelf MOF en jurylid, legt dat uit in <a href=\"https:\/\/nouvellesgastronomiques.com\/fabrice-sommier-il-y-a-un-avant-et-un-apres-le-titre-de-mof\/\">dit interview met Les Nouvelles Gastronomiques (in het Frans)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:inherit;font-size:1.2em;line-height:1.4;margin-top:1.5em;\">Emmanuel Cadieu, van Cheval Blanc Paris naar Lille<\/h2>\n<p>Emmanuel Cadieu leidt het sommelierteam van Cheval Blanc Paris. Zijn loopbaan bracht hem onder meer naar Londen en Sydney, voordat hij bij het Parijse hotel aan de slag ging. Een internationale ervaring in een vak waarin wijnkennis hand in hand gaat met luisteren en gastvrijheid. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ruinart.com\/fr-fr\/chefsommelierplenitudeparis.html\">Ontdek zijn loopbaan (in het Frans).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>De finale examens sommellerie vonden op 7 en 8 oktober 2026 plaats in Lille, met negen finalisten. Na die twee dagen werden twee namen bekendgemaakt: <strong>Emmanuel Cadieu en Edmond Gasser<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lhotellerie-restauration.fr\/actualite\/mof-sommellerie-emmanuel-cadieu-et-edmond-gasser-sacres-a-lille\">Lees het verslag van de resultaten (in het Frans).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Van harte gefeliciteerd aan hen beiden, met een bijzondere gedachte aan Emmanuel, die we tijdens zijn verblijf in Lille mochten ontvangen.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:inherit;font-size:1.2em;line-height:1.4;margin-top:1.5em;\">Een bijzondere week bij La Maison Fives<\/h2>\n<p>We ontvingen ook Sandrine Kauffer-Binz, die voor Les Nouvelles Gastronomiques verslag deed van het evenement, en twee andere kandidaten: een sommelier en een kandidaat in het vakgebied ma\u00eetre d\u2019h\u00f4tel.<\/p>\n<p>Sandrine schreef <a href=\"https:\/\/nouvellesgastronomiques.com\/emmanuel-cadieu-et-edmond-gasser-sont-les-nouveaux-meilleurs-ouvriers-de-france-2026-sommellerie\/\">een reportage over de nieuwe MOF-sommeliers (in het Frans)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DePn1ZFAHAQ\/\">Bekijk ook de video van @nouvellesgastronomiques op Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Deze week herinnerde ons ook aan waarom we dit doen. We ontvangen regelmatig mensen die voor hun werk reizen: journalisten, artsen, vertegenwoordigers, sprekers, bedrijfsleiders\u2026 Hun een goede nachtrust en een rustige werkplek bieden, is onze kleine bijdrage aan wat ze in Lille komen doen.<\/p>\n<p>Daarom besteden we aandacht aan eenvoudige dingen: rust, een goede internetverbinding, een bureau met een stopcontact in elke kamer en ontbijt op je eigen tempo. In de salon staat een goede koffiemachine; iedere kamer heeft ook een waterkoker om koffie, thee of kruidenthee te zetten.
