Le Bassin de l'Airou : site Natura 2000. Quelles espèces s'y baignent ?
Principal affluent de la Sienne, l'Airou serpente sur plus de 35 km, au travers des roches dures d'une vallée sinueuse et encaissée. Le site est reconnu au titre des habitats d'espèces importantes pour la biodiversité : le saumon atlantique, le chabot, la lamproie de Planer, la mulette perlière. D'autres espèces fréquentent couramment aussi la rivière, telles que la truite fario, le vairon, le goujon et l'anguille.

The sea is 9 km away, accessible by country roads. You can find popular large sandy beaches like in Hauteville-sur-Mer or Agon-Coutainville, or more wild beaches like in Annoville. At low tide, the sea recedes to leave 2 km of beach.

Spend an unforgettable day with friends or family canoeing down the Sienne from Quettreville-sur-Sienne to the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer. Siouville La Hague is one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Normandy. The on-site surf club rents boards and wetsuits for €20: www.cotentinsurfclub.com. We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
