Le Vallon boisé où coule le ruisseau Crapeux, est enjambé par un viaduc qui permettait le passage, de 1908 à 1935, du petit train reliant Granville à Sourdeval. Dans cette vallée sauvage, il y avait une carrière de granit bleu en 1840. Le nom de la Vallée des Peintres est lié aux nombreux peintres ayant séjourné et exercé leur talent à Carolles. Les artistes Jacques Simon, Edmond Debon, Emile Baudoux, Frédéric Jousset ont été attirés par Carolles.

We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
