Malgré sa petite taille, Villedieu a su préserver l'activité commerciale qui la caractérise depuis plusieurs siècles. En 1710, la cité comptait déjà 108 boutiques de commerces divers situées le long de la rue Gambetta et le long des halles (actuelle Place de la République).
Au numéro 25, du côté ouest de la place, appréciez la façade du XVIème siècle de l'ancienne auberge Saint Michel. En haut de la place, remarquez la statue de la République érigée sur sa colonne en 1889. Elle rappelle l'engagement républicain des sourdins qui dès les premières heures de 1789 ont soutenu la Révolution Française.

Siouville La Hague is one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Normandy. The on-site surf club rents boards and wetsuits for €20: www.cotentinsurfclub.com. We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
