Edifice roman classé Monument Historique, l'ancienne abbaye bénédictine a été fondée au XIème siècle par les Barons de La Haye-du-Puits. Elle fut l'un des premiers édifices à recevoir un voûtement complet sur croisées d'ogives. Après sa destruction en 1944, la reconstruction à l'identique a été menée par Yves-Marie Froidevaux, architecte en chef des monuments historiques. Visite libre de l'église sauf lors des offices religieux. Les anciens bâtiments conventuels du XVIIIème siècle sont une propriété privée.

The sea is 9 km away, accessible by country roads. You can find popular large sandy beaches like in Hauteville-sur-Mer or Agon-Coutainville, or more wild beaches like in Annoville. At low tide, the sea recedes to leave 2 km of beach.

Spend an unforgettable day with friends or family canoeing down the Sienne from Quettreville-sur-Sienne to the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer. The Sienne descent begins between fields (2-hour journey), continues through the magnificent Sienne Estuary (2.5-hour journey), and ends in the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer.

Siouville La Hague is one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Normandy. The on-site surf club rents boards and wetsuits for €20: www.cotentinsurfclub.com. We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
