Construit entre 1631 et 1636 par l’architecte François Mansart, l’imposant château de Balleroy, entièrement restauré et meublé, se visite tout comme ses jardins à la française et le parc à l’anglaise. Dans une des dépendances, parcourez en toute liberté le musée des ballons, créé par Malcolm Forbes, ancien propriétaire, fervent amateur de montgolfières. Pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent passer un moment gourmand, le salon de thé vous accueille avec cafés, thés, chocolats, boissons fraîches et délicieux gâteaux.

Durée de la visite guidée en français ou anglais : environ 45 minutes.

Located 10 minutes from large sandy beaches and a few kilometers from major Norman destinations such as Mont St-Michel, the D-Day beaches, and the Chausey Islands, La Maison Folia enjoys an exceptional position. It offers you a multitude of activities:

The sea is 9 km away, accessible by country roads. You can find popular large sandy beaches like in Hauteville-sur-Mer or Agon-Coutainville, or more wild beaches like in Annoville. At low tide, the sea recedes to leave 2 km of beach.

Spend an unforgettable day with friends or family canoeing down the Sienne from Quettreville-sur-Sienne to the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer. The Sienne descent begins between fields (2-hour journey), continues through the magnificent Sienne Estuary (2.5-hour journey), and ends in the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer.

Siouville La Hague is one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Normandy. The on-site surf club rents boards and wetsuits for €20: www.cotentinsurfclub.com. We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
