Ce lieu est particulièrement impressionnant : 9 386 croix de marbre y sont alignées face à la mer. Ce sont les tombes des soldats américains tombés dans la bataille de Normandie. À l'origine, ce cimetière comprenait 18 000 tombes, mais beaucoup de corps ont été rapatriés. La solennité de ce lieu, sa rigueur, son étendue en font l'un des lieux de mémoire les plus forts de la région. The sea is 9 km away, accessible by country roads. You can find popular large sandy beaches like in Hauteville-sur-Mer or Agon-Coutainville, or more wild beaches like in Annoville. At low tide, the sea recedes to leave 2 km of beach.

Spend an unforgettable day with friends or family canoeing down the Sienne from Quettreville-sur-Sienne to the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer. The Sienne descent begins between fields (2-hour journey), continues through the magnificent Sienne Estuary (2.5-hour journey), and ends in the sea at Hauteville-sur-Mer.

Siouville La Hague is one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Normandy. The on-site surf club rents boards and wetsuits for €20: www.cotentinsurfclub.com. We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
