Tour reposant sur d'imposantes colonnes ; vaste chœur et grandes lucarnes ; nef avec grand porche et plaque funéraire ; bancs du chœur intérieurs avec inscription « Place pour les marguilliers ». Elle fut détruite aux 3/4 pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Dans le cimetière, un monument est dédié à la mémoire du Général Théodore Roosevelt Junior, brigadier général de la quatrième division d'infanterie.

Théodore Roosevelt arriva à Méautis après le 15 juin 1944. Le 13 juillet 1944, alors que les Allemands tentaient une nouvelle offensive pour reprendre Méautis, il fut victime d'une crise cardiaque en revenant d'un assaut avec ses hommes près du presbytère. Son corps repose aujourd'hui au cimetière de Colleville-sur-Mer dans le Calvados. Théodore Roosevelt Junior fut honoré à titre posthume de la Medal of Honor, la plus haute distinction militaire américaine.

We have a catamaran (newcat 16); if you practice, we can discuss it. Besides that, catamaran, stand-up paddle, and sand yachting rentals are available in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
